I shot this on our recent trip to PNG on True North and is so typical of the hidden beauty PNG offers.
Such an amazing country and so under rated due to the bad press it receives.
We have a guide on board by the name of Simon who is an expat Aussy, who has been living in PNG now for many years.
He used to run cruise vessels up the Sepik river with his family and back then PNG had a very good tourism trade which was very popular with Aussies and Americans especially.
What we have found is that as soon as you get away from the built up areas like Port Moresby, the place and people are amazing and as friendly as you will meet anywhere in the world.
The magical beauty of PNG is endless and it is untouched and pristine, with very little rubbish or flotsam where we cruise as there simply is limited amounts of rubbish generated as they don’t have plastic bags or bottles to litter the place.
The photo above was in a very cool mushroom coral grove I saw on one of the dives and they were all focused around one area.
